Secret Santa is based upon the sensational true crime story of Josef f. Boehm, Bambi Tyree, and Bill Allen. Josef Boehm (61) was a millionaire founder of a large hardware store chain with locations across Alaska. In December of 2003 Anchorage police raided his Oceanview, Anchorage home to uncover a world of sex, drugs, and underage girls. Boehm and his on and off girlfriend, Bambi Tyree (23), and two other men were charged with a conspiracy to give crack cocaine to girls as young as 13 in exchange for sex. Needless to say, this came as a shock to an Anchorage community that had viewed Boehm as a civic leader and philanthropist. Bill Allen, CEO of a large oilfield services company, was involved in the ring, and he ended up agreeing to wear a wire for the government in a corruption probe that jailed no less than four state legislators.
